FERNANDO: one of the most popular drinks in most of Argentina is Fernet and Coca Cola. The mix is called Fernando. Although the origin of this connection is unknown some rumours say that it was originated in Cordoba, the home city of Fernet. A recent survey found out that 90% of adult Cordobeses (locals from the province in mid-country) drink an average rate of 36 bottles of Fernet per year (that is: almost 3 bottles per month, which equals about 96 long-drink glasses per person).
Fernet is a dark herbal “aperitivo” with 40% alcohol graduation, a bitter taste and more than 15 million Argentinian lovers.
